How long have you been teaching Communication 185?

Since the Fall of 2015.

What skills and traits have you seen in students in your class that leads to success?

No surprise here: Hard work, persistence, confidence, organization, strong writing, punctuality, and the desire to find ways to help others be their best. In the long run, character and integrity reign supreme.

What are some tips or strategies for success that you recommend for Comm students in and out of the classroom?

Introduce yourself to others and ask about their views and experience. Most importantly, listen to what they have to say.

What led you to choose a career in academia and in the field of Communication?

Academia allows me to pursue my own interests while helping others grow while pursuing theirs. The multidisciplinary and dynamic Communication fields encompass nearly limitless areas of study, ranging from popular to theoretical, that are constantly changing and growing. There is never a dull moment.
